Volunteers wanted for Norwich transport service
Published: 11 March 2026

A community transport service helping people stay independent across Norwich is looking for new volunteers to join its friendly team.
Norwich Door to Door provides a reliable, door-to-door service for residents in Norwich and surrounding districts who have limited mobility. The service helps people remain active and involved in their community by providing transport to essential appointments and everyday activities.
The organisation is currently inviting people to volunteer as either drivers or passenger assistants. Just a day a week can make a real difference.
Volunteers play an important role in helping passengers get to places such as medical appointments, luncheon clubs, shops and even trips to the hairdresser. As part of the team, volunteers help ensure passengers can continue living independently while staying connected with the community.
What they’re looking for
The team is hoping to hear from people who are:
- Friendly and approachable
- Flexible and willing to help where needed
- Good communicators
- Reliable, with a sense of humour always welcome
What volunteers get in return
Volunteering isn’t just about helping others — it can be rewarding too. Those who join the team can expect:
- The chance to meet new people and become part of a supportive group
- The satisfaction of giving something back to the local community
- Opportunities to build confidence and learn new skills
Anyone interested in getting involved, whether they’ve volunteered before or are simply curious to try something new, is encouraged to get in touch.
