Secret Animal Garden residents rehomed
Published: 16 April 2026

All animals from ROARR!’s Secret Animal Garden have now been successfully rehomed in carefully selected facilities where their welfare and long-term care will remain the priority.
The move follows the park’s earlier decision to close the Secret Animal Garden after careful consideration of the increasing regulatory requirements associated with maintaining a zoo licence.
The Secret Animal Garden had been a popular feature at ROARR! for many years, and the decision to close it was not taken lightly. The park acknowledges the strong connection many families formed with the animals and thanks visitors for their continued support and understanding during the transition.
“We’re pleased that each one has now moved to a suitable home”
Several animals have already settled into their new surroundings. The giant tortoise, Ernie, along with the lovebirds and corn snakes, are now thriving at Pettit’s Animal Adventure Park. Clarice the iguana has settled into her new home at Amazona Zoo in Cromer. All remaining animals have also been rehomed with experienced keepers to ensure they continue to receive high standards of care.
Adam Goymour, Managing Director of ROARR!, said:
“While it was a difficult decision to close the Secret Animal Garden, our absolute priority throughout has been the welfare of the animals. We’re delighted that each one has now found a new home where they will continue to receive excellent care. We know many of our visitors had a real affection for them, so we’re pleased to be able to share that they have all settled into environments that suit their needs.”
ROARR! also extended its thanks to the specialist animal care teams who supported the relocation process and helped ensure a smooth transition for all animals involved.
