Memories and Movies Group moves to new home

Published: 12 February 2026

A local film club has found a new base, with the Memories and Movies Group relocating from Breckland Hall to the Costessey Centre on Longwater Lane.

The group meets on the last Friday of the month and shows a mix of classic films alongside titles with local interest. The new venue offers plenty of easy parking, refreshments, and a comfortable space for residents to enjoy a good film.

Their next screening is on 27th February, when they will be showing One Life starring Anthony Hopkins. The film tells the powerful true story of Sir Nicholas Winton and the lives he helped save in the months leading up to the Second World War.

On 27th March, the group will present The Great Escaper, a warm and humorous true story featuring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson, about a 90-year-old war veteran determined to attend the D-Day commemorations in France.

New faces are always encouraged to come along. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Membership works out at roughly £1.50 per film across the year, while guests can attend for just £2.
