Pudsey pays surprise visit to Firside Junior School

Pupils and staff at Firside Junior School embraced the spirit of giving today, holding a vibrant non-uniform day in support of the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal.
The school grounds were awash with colourful spots, Pudsey bear ears, and cheerful attire as children traded their usual uniforms for their favourite non-school outfits, with pupils contributing to the charity’s mission to support vulnerable young people across the UK.
The highlight of the day at the Hellesdon school was a surprise visit from the charity’s beloved mascot, Pudsey Bear.
The famous yellow bear took the time to visit every classroom, sharing high-fives and hugs with the excited students, who greeted him with cheers and smiles. This special appearance truly brought the importance and fun of the fundraising effort to life.
“Seeing the excitement on the children’s faces when Pudsey walked in was truly wonderful,” said Mr O’Malley, Head of School, which is part of the Wensum Trust. “Our students and their families have once again shown incredible generosity and community spirit.
“The non-uniform day is a fun way for the children to get involved directly, but we are also incredibly grateful for the many parents who have chosen to donate directly to the BBC Children in Need Appeal.”
