Wolterton Hall, one of Norfolk’s most stunning 18th-century Palladian estates, is opening its doors for a rare behind-the-scenes look with the launch of new guided tours.

Nestled in 500 acres of parkland, with peaceful lakes and a restored seven-acre walled garden, the Hall is a true Norfolk gem that blends history, beauty, and timeless charm.

Visitors will be taken on a guided tour through the Hall’s historic rooms, from the impressive Main Hall and State Rooms to the Venetian Room and the Saloon, where beautiful tapestries from Cardinal Fleury are on display. Along the way, they’ll see the famous Amigoni family portrait and hear fascinating stories about the Hall’s past, including Horatio Walpole’s travels in France and visits from Admiral Lord Nelson.

“Discover the stories behind the rooms and gardens”

Visitors can explore Wolterton’s beautiful grounds, stroll along peaceful woodland paths, walk by the sparkling lake, or enjoy the stunning walled garden. Keep an eye out for the small vineyard too – a lovely little touch that blends the estate’s history with modern life. Every step is a chance to take in the scenery.

“We’re really excited to welcome people inside Wolterton Hall,”says Richard Ellis, Owner. “These guided tours give visitors a chance to experience the history, architecture, and landscapes that make the estate so special, and to discover the stories behind the rooms and gardens in a way that’s not usually possible.”
